WEIRD SCIENCE
Who doesn't love the magic of science? Imagine taking some everyday household products and seeing what happens. All groups have a great curriculum resource that will help your groups explore the wonderful world of science and experimentation! Don't be afraid to step outside the box a little bit and create your own experiment! Learn about the Scientific Method, test the different methods to make slime or goo, and maybe even make a fragile egg...bounce!

Group 13: How tough is toilet paper?
During Weird Science Week, we had lots of fun experimenting! We decided to check out a common supply that we all use everyday, toilet paper! How strong is a sheet of toilet paper? Here's what we did:
First, we took a sheet of toilet paper and stretched it across two desks. It was almost like making a bridge. Next, we laid blocks out across the toilet paper bridge. We gave Mr. McKenna an estimate of how many blocks we thought the toilet paper could hold. Then, we placed as many blocks as we could onto the bridge until it came crashing down!
Stacia and Jacob estimated their toilet paper could hold 45 blocks. They found out that their toilet paper was much stronger than that. "Our toilet paper didn't even break and we put 212 blocks on it!" said Stacia.
